I consulted my teachers and my classmates in China. They showed me how to make a perfect etching. Because my works need to try different materials to try the final effect. It turns out that copper etching is a good way to show it. The disadvantage is that the area of the copper plate etching is limited. Personally, I like the bigger picture. But it might be a good idea to combine a dozen pieces of copper together.
The following is my summary of the conversation between the teacher and artist friends:
Step 1, compose a picture on paper.
The second step is to put the zinc plate into the flying dust box for the flying dust experiment.
Take it out after a minute and cook it evenly over the heat, carefully.
The 3rd pace, material such as canvass bar can be used to undertake a daub antiseptic layer on the zinc board after heating.
Step 4, Use a knife to scrape the paint stick on the anti-corrosion layer to create the desired image.
The fifth step put in nitric acid dilute solution for corrosion.
Time is 25 seconds.
The sixth step, take out the corroded zinc plate for cleaning and airing.
The seventh step is to ink the dry zinc on the above image, wipe it evenly and clean the surface of the ink.
Step 8, start printing, finished product.
In the future, I plan to return to China after graduation. If possible, I would like to join one of my teachers' workshops first, so I contacted my previous relevant mentors. They are some of the most famous artists in China. Have a huge network of resources. Most of the replies they gave me were welcoming. So I choose a studio that I think is good for my development.
And I chose to join the studio. That's because being in a studio provides a quiet space. There will also be a group of like-minded artists. The studio also has access to well-known galleries.
In addition, maybe I will make further efforts to get a doctorate and learn to create while getting a doctorate. I hope to be a teacher in an art college. In this way, I can get in touch with more artists and get more resources to enrich my art.
